May 12, 2010By Jones Hayden
May 12 (Bloomberg) -- European Commission President Jose Barroso said monetary union is not possible without economic union.
“You can’t have a monetary union without having an economic union,” Barroso told reporters in Brussels today. “Member states should have the courage to say whether they want an economic union or not. And if they don’t,” then “it’s better to forget monetary union all together.”
