Leftwing parties are fuelling fears of unrest linked to growing unemployment, which is expected to rise to near 5m next year. “We will see another German federal republic in a few months time [compared with] the one we have right now. There will be lots of massive protests on the streets,” says Ulrich Maurer, chief whip of the radical Left party. (more)
