FORMER IRS SPECIAL AGENT PROVIDES SHERRY PEEL JACKSON UPDATE AND REQUESTS YOUR SUPPORT
Dear Friends,
I spoke with former IRS Internal Revenue Agent Sherry Jackson’s husband Colin this morning to see how the Jackson family was doing. For those not familiar with Sherry, she worked for nearly 8 years as an IRS Internal Revenue Agent and after resigning from that position and practicing as a CPA more and more of her clients claimed that the IRS was illegitimately administering and enforcing the federal income tax system and asked her for her opinion on the subject. Sherry had always believed that the IRS was legitimately administering and enforcing the federal income tax system but with so many clients inquiring she decided to take a look for herself. Similar to the experience many of us can identify with, Sherry learned that, indeed, there was ample evidence that the IRS was illegitimately administering and enforcing the federal income tax system. Sherry bravely went public with her beliefs and, being a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”), not to mention a Christian African-American female who had previously worked for the Internal Revenue Service, her story became well known to America, even to the point of a prominent role in the historic film “America Freedom To Fascism”.
As I have learned from my own experiences, the IRS refuses to co-exist with credible people who hold an alternative view and, rather than rebut those views face to face, the IRS works behind the scenes to discredit and silence those alternative views. Sherry was ultimately subjected to these behind the scenes tactics that culminated in her being charged with willful failure to file federal income tax returns. Primarily as a result of currently employed IRS agents who lied about their previous conversations with Sherry during their testimony at her trial, Sherry was convicted and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. She has been imprisoned now for approximately 2.5 of those 4 years.
During my conversation with Colin this morning, Colin said that he had visited Sherry last Friday July 30th and that, despite her difficult circumstances, she was in relatively good health and in good spirits. Colin will be visiting Sherry again in a couple of weeks. In my view it is beyond dispute that the Jackson family has endured enormous hardship and suffering for joining their voices with others who believe the federal income tax system is illegitimately administered and enforced.
I gathered from my conversation with Colin that the Jackson family is struggling and I urge each and every one of the recipients of this message to support them as much as possible. Colin is not a man to complain but I can plainly see that he is having a difficult time making ends meet while his spouse is imprisoned. Imagine running your household with two breadwinners and then suddenly one day two breadwinners becomes one, and imagine having to be without the second bread-winner for three years straight. Colin’s salary as an Atlanta Firefighter has been the sole means of support for the family for at least the last three years or so. He is trying to make the house payment and pay the bills of the household yet still help his children with their modest college tuition as much as he can, although Colin and Sherry’s children have held down their own part time jobs to contribute as much as they can. Both of the Jackson children are college students and the family cars are used as transportation to and from work and school, although public transportation is also utilized when available. I have learned that the family cars have 220,000 to 300,000 miles on them and the car that has 220,000 miles on it has just incurred a $1,500 repair bill just to get it running again. Colin also uses these aging cars to drive many hundreds of miles to visit Sherry every 2 to 3 weeks, visits that obviously mean the world to Sherry as she endures her horrible circumstances.
I am asking everyone who recognizes and appreciates the Jackson family’s enormous sacrifices to consider a small donation to help this courageous family endure these difficult financial circumstance, maintain their household and continue the family’s visits with Sherry, visits that are obviously critical not only for Sherry’s well-being but for the Jackson family’s well-being as a whole.
Please consider sending any size donation, great or small, to help the Jackson family. Gifts to the Jackson family by check or money order are gratefully accepted and can be made payable to "Colin Jackson" and mailed to him at 1560 Fieldgreen Overlook, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30088. Money orders or cash may provide a greater degree of privacy to the donor than checks so use your own discretion based on the degree of privacy you desire. If you mail cash, keep the denominations small and be sure to use “security” envelopes and wrapping that minimizes outside viewing of the envelopes’ contents. You can email any words of support to Colin at colinljackson@msn.com .
I offer my sincerest gratitude to all who have in the past helped with your prayers and financial support those of us on the “front lines”. Your prayers and financial support help us to keep up the fight and to never give up.
Kind regards,
Joseph R. (Joe) Banister
