Europe Against Austerity: London conference set for 1st October
Across the Eurozone and beyond, the financial crisis continues to deepen as governments step up their brutal and ineffective austerity measures. This offensive is now being extended to all EU countries through the Euro Pact and the ‘new economic governance’. Quite simply, this aims to deconstruct what little remains of the social state and public services, while cutting back on salaries and social rights.
Voices from across Europe are calling for a convergence of struggles, for fronts of resistance everywhere which will assert the primacy of human need over the demands of finance. The Coalition of Resistancehere in Britain has recognised this need and agrees that resistance needs to be international, and co-ordinated. As a top priority we are now working with movements and organisations across Europe and beyond to organise an international conference in London on 1st October.

We are asking every Coalition of Resistance supporter to not only be there on the day but to spread the word as wide as possible, ask your friends, workmates, union branch, local anti-cuts group to support the conference and to attend.
