Professor Wilhelm Hankel was Secretary of State in the German Finance Ministry under Karl Schiller, and, for ten years, was the chief economist of the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau. His most recent book is Die Euro-Lüge und andere volkswirtschaftliche Märchen (The Euro Lie and Other Economic Fairy Tales).
