“The Commons and Integral Capital”

“The Commons and Integral Capital”–by James Bernard Quilligan

by Richard Cook

Many thanks to Peter Challen of the Christian Council for Monetary Justice and the London Global Table who brought to my attention a great article by James Bernard Quilligan on “The Commons and Integral Capital” on the website of Kosmos magazine.

Kosmos is published in Lenox, Mass. Quilligan is on their board of directors and is an economic consultant, writer, and musician/composer.

Quilligan defines today’s world in terms of the complete collapse and failure of the “Market State.”

To paraphrase: The Market State consists of collectivist government advancing the agenda of private capital through seizure of resources belonging to what should be viewed as the societal commons, with the result of obliterating individual consciousness, an entity it doesn’t even recognize to exist.

Quilligan points to a broad global awakening which seeks to put individual consciousness and the societal commons first, rather than last. The result would be a world where “Integral Capital” was recognized as the true source of well-being, not just money and power.

The article is well worth studying and discussing. Here’s the link: Click Here
